Hello sweet baby angels! After a long 26 hours, I am finally back home and very, very content to be.
When I was away, my skin SUFFERED — I got hives, some cystic pimples, and clogged pores, and I’m not too happy about it, but my skin is definitely returning to normal and so I figured it was time I go the extra mile for my epidermis.
If you know me, you know I’m already a maniac when it comes to my skin; I have a morning, mid-day, and night regimen I follow EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. and I NEVER sleep with makeup on (unless it’s a nap but that’s also sleeping I guess). However, I feel like I neglect the factor of healthy skin as my main objective is to rid any pesky pimples.
But after my skin trauma, I am not messing around with my skin anymore. So as a public service announcement: I AM TAKING CARE OF MY SKIN, PERIOD. Imagine me yelling this because I am here to commit, my friends.
So this post isn’t going to be a skincare routine blah blah blah, because I already did one a few months back! The routine is a biiiit different but there are also moving parts so if you think my skin is so good you need a routine for it, I’ll do one. But for now, here is my current skin edit, or simply some treatments I do on my skin to keep her fresh and cute.
I feel like I always talk about these masks but its well-deserved because they are LITERALLY THE BEST. And I don’t say that lightly ! You can get them on Amazon which is key because when my grandmother originally gave them to me I thought they were some foreign Korean masks, so bless Amazon and its beautiful plethora of skincare! These masks will really make you glow, reduce any breakouts, and balance your skin. So please, do yourself a favor and pick. some. up.
AKA eye masks but eye jellies sounds so much more ~kawaii~. (✿◠‿◠) I used to be really skeptical about undereye products because gravity is no joke, but after purchasing a few packs from Singapore and using them on my flight home, my world has turned upside down. First of all, they feel amazing and very luxe and second of all, it completely depuffs and brightens. Which is weird that I’m even valuing because I enjoy tired eyes because it makes you look human, but now I look like a rested human! Even better!
Like every other skincare aficionado, I was huge on manual exfoliants — St.Ives to be exact, but Into The Gloss really freaked me out when they mentioned the microtearing it can inhibit on the skin. Sooooo, we’re out here doing peels, my G. I don’t think I’m going to get anymore than the two I have now because they work wonders already, so my two favorites are the Cure Natural Aqua Gel and The Ordinary Peeling Solution. The first gives immediate (I mean it) effects as you can literally see the dead skin pilling off whereas the latter gives a second-day glow, but whatever it is, it works, and it leaves my skin baby smooth. No, feel my face seriously. Any my legs because I just shaved muahahaha.
Whenever I get that son of a bitch of a cystic pimple, my immediate resort is to slap some Manuka honey on. Trust, all the stuff you hear about Manuka honey is true, it works wonders. It’s antibacterial (I think, don’t quote me on that) and so it penetrates deep into the skin by sloughing off any dead skin and reducing the size and redness of your zit (Don’t quote me on that either). Basically, if you dab a bit of Miss Manuka on your cystic pimple overnight, you’ll wake up with a clearer complexion. And you can definitely quote me on that.
So that’s my skin edit for now — au revoir! Talk to you later! Maybe about skincare, maybe about makeup, maybe about fashion! You’ll just have to come back and see!
Oh, and it’s pretty much all Amazon friendly 🙂 Amazon: sponsor me.
