Drugstore Beauty Buys

beauty & style, Uncategorized

For whatever reason, I forgot that the drugstore is home to some OG beauty products. I realized it was time to pull my head out of my ass and realize that HEY, I’m not better than Walgreens, and that I should use it to its fullest potential. Yes, Sephora rocks, but the drugstore? It rocks too. Maybe even more. So in an attempt to pull my head out of my ass, I’ve been back on the drugstore train and have tons of oldies and newbie products I’m obsessed with. I now present, my drugstore beauty buys!

T H E  L I S T

Indeed Labs Nano Blur

I never believed in an instant miracle product until I came across this incredible little potion. Like it’s actually magical. MAGICAL. Apparently, it’s supposed to give a real-life filter to your face in 40 seconds by blurring out scars, wrinkles, pores, and oils, and it really does. I can smell bullshit from a mile away and this does not smell anything like bullshit to me.

Indeed Labs Retinol Reface

I always thought of retinol as the cult ingredient for ladies in their mid-30s trying to combat wrinkles but never as the cult ingredient for anyone trying to combat acne or scarring. Who knew retinol was so amazing? Not me. In fact, it’s life-changing. The super potent ingredient actually speeds up the process of cell turnover which is what helps clear up acne, scarring, and wrinkles. I’m concerned about anti-aging though, I’m 16 for Christ’s sake!

Maybelline Illegal Length (WP) Mascara

I said it before, and I’ll say it again. This was my very first beauty purchase at age 12 (yowzas!) and I’m still in love with it. From there, decide whether or not you’re going to buy it or not from there. (Hint: buy it.)

Yes, the packaging is a little…erm, ugly? But the awesome product and super affordable price compensates for that. I have like six of them floating around my purse, backpack, room, bathroom, you name it. Oh, I think I have one in my kitchen too for whatever reason.

PIXI Natural Brow Duo (Brunette)

I have never found a brow pencil better than this one. Seriously. An $8 brow pencil AND gel found at Target that lasts over a year?!?! Yes please. The tip of this is angled and thicker and the gel isn’t crunchy or crusty looking so your dream brows are only a click away. I promise.

Sonia Kashuk Lip Pencil (Natural)

One of my favorite go-to lip looks is just lining my lips with this lip pencil and applying Carmex on top. It defines your lips without it looking like you did. It’s more of a “Wow! Her lips are so defined but in a natural way!” sort of thing because that’s totally what I think when I first see someone.

Essie Chip Free Top Coat

It might have been mercury retrograde but a few months ago my nail polish was so brittle and weak it couldn’t even withstand air. And I’m not exaggerating. Before school one day I painted my nails and GEL color that was supposed to last 2 WEEKS. Three hours later, it started chipping. Like everywhere, and I was so distracted my teacher actually thought I was texting and stopped the entire class just to call me out on picking my nails. Basically, this top coat stopped these embarrassing nail endeavors with my teachers from happening.

Now go to Walgreens and comment back when you’ve fallen in just as much love as I have with these products.
