You may know this about me but I LIVE for the grocery store. You can compare it to a kid in a candy store, I guess but instead of endless Kit-Kat bars, it’s endless healthy food alternatives. After a few years of doing my own grocery shopping, I think I’ve got my essential foods down pat. Here are the foods you should stock your pantry and fridge with.

Nutritious Drinks

You may think the only way to drink your way to an impeccable health is water and green juice, but you’re wrong. There are plenty more options out there but two of my favorites are coconut water and Kombucha. Coconut water is great because it’s jam-packed with electrolytes and nutrients whereas Kombucha is key in digestion, weight-loss, increased energy, detoxification, reduced joint prevention, and reduced risk of cancer.

Post-Dinner “Desserts”

It may just be the inner health freak in me but I love guilty pleasure pig-outs where I can eat a scoop to the entire container of “ice cream” or sip on tea thats doing more good than bad for me. One of my favorite “ice creams” is the Tea-Riffic Ice Cream that’s flavored with Ginger Matcha tea. Yeah, you read that right. It’s as good as it looks and sounds. Another healthy alternative to a fatty milkshake is a detoxifying tea. Great for days where I feel bloated and puffy AKA always.

“Easy Veggies”

There’s a stigma attached to healthy eating that it’s extremely time consuming and requires a lot of effort. INCORRECT – healthy eating can be totally simple and easy. There’s no need to go on a juicing spree to get a veggie intake, just get a bag or two of vegetables you can eat raw like baby carrots or cucumbers. They’re great to snack on with hummus…my fave. 🙂 ❤

Fruit.

It doesn’t take a genius to know that fruit is essential for a healthy and balanced diet. As you many know by now, I’m lazy so fruits that are easy to snack on throughout the day and chuck into smoothies are 100% necessary for someone like me who is always busy and on-the-go.

Craving Crushers

Like anyone, I get cravings – really bad ones. I’m not gonna sit here and tell you how healthy I am 24/7 because I’m not. If anything, I had like 4 brownies everyday this past Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Fro-yo yesterday, and a MASSIVE burrito today. #YOLO, right? Now that I’m getting myself back on track, I’m gonna need some assistance to banish my cravings so vegan, gluten-free, organic, and all-natural macaroons are just what I and everyone else with cravings (everyone in the world) needs.

Make sure you add these to your updated grocery list…

    • thank you so much, i’ll definitely try it out!! I normally post mondays, wednesdays, and fridays but with my broken camera and all this school work piling up I’ve been super busy :(( I’ll have new content up soon though, for sure!
